Primal Launcher Release 1.3.0

•By Uni•launchermain
Shared PC Mode (New)

A new Shared PC Mode has been added for internet cafés and shared computers. When enabled, account credentials are kept only for the current session and are not saved to disk. A PIN protects sensitive actions:

- Installing, removing, or managing game clients
- Managing saved accounts
- Changing client settings (effects, graphics, audio)
- Accessing launcher settings (the admin panel)

By default, protected actions ask for the PIN each time you click them. The admin can optionally allow selected features without a PIN (e.g. allow managing clients, but keep installing locked). The launcher settings screen itself is always protected: even if you've entered a PIN for another feature, accessing launcher settings always requires its own fresh PIN.

Under Shared PC Mode:

- The Favorites tab and favorite-star buttons on character cards are hidden entirely
- Registration history (emails, usernames) is cleared and never saved to disk
- The "Save account" option is hidden during login

Character Favorites (New)

You can now mark characters as favorites. Favorites appear in a dedicated Favorites tab in the center view and can be quick-launched directly from the system tray icon — no need to switch servers or scroll through your account list. Favorites work across all servers. A bug where favorites were not saved between launcher restarts has also been fixed.

Login & Launch Improvements

The center view has been reworked around account tabs. When you log in to an account, it gets its own tab showing that account's characters as cards you can click to launch. The previous favorites bar has been replaced by this tabbed layout. A loading indicator appears in the tab bar while accounts are loading. The sidebar controls have also been grouped into distinct Server and Client/Login cards for clarity.

Alarm & Event Icon

The event alarm button has been redesigned into a single combined icon showing a bell with a speaker. Clicking it toggles the alarm; the speaker icon changes to show the current volume level (including a clear "muted" state with an X overlay).

Setup Wizard

The first-run setup wizard has been improved:

- The settings section is now scrollable, with the header and footer staying fixed
- The Shared PC enrollment flow is clearer — the toggle in the wizard just selects the option, and the PIN is set when you click Continue
- The wizard no longer appears behind a too-short window or gets hidden by the terminal panel
- The default window size is taller, and the terminal is hidden during setup

Tutorial

The interactive tutorial has been updated:

- Steps are now ordered Server → Account → Client to match the natural setup flow
- A new step explains Shared PC Mode when it's relevant
- The Favorites step now correctly appears only when you have favorites
- Steps now wait for the actual UI element to be ready before highlighting it

Effects Settings

- Toggling an effect on no longer collapses the expanded category list — your expansion state is preserved
- Fixed "Disable All" and cache clearing so related effects continue updating correctly
- Effect settings are now tracked per client — switching clients no longer shows the wrong enabled/disabled state
- Restoring effects to their initial state now works correctly across all clients

Shadow Settings

- The currently selected shadow preset is now clearly highlighted in the WinXP and Conquer Classic themes (previously the selection border was invisible in WinXP and hard to see in Conquer Classic)

Client Management

- The client context menu (Install, Settings, Remove, etc.) now opens upward when near the bottom of the screen, instead of being cut off
- Installing a client to the default location (without picking a folder) works again, and the picked folder path is now shown exactly as it will be used
- The "Clear Cached Data" action is always available without a PIN under Shared PC Mode
- "Check for Updates" requires the Client Settings permission under Shared PC Mode (off by default)

News & Release Notes

- The "View Full Post" button on news items now opens the article in your external browser
- The release notes view in the About screen has a proper scrollbar and no longer squishes sibling elements

Other Fixes

- Favorites load at startup instead of only when you switch to the Favorites tab
- The client menu no longer stays open after clicking an action
- Accounts with zero characters now appear as session tabs instead of being silently dropped
- A registered account now correctly reaches the dropdown instead of triggering a direct launch
- Non-blocking launch warnings (e.g. missing proxy) are now shown in the terminal instead of being hidden
- The alarm volume now handles all edge cases (disabled, missing, zero, or valid values)
- Various stability improvements around session tracking, update checks, and install/patch reliability
- Improved safety for updates, installs, and launcher actions

UI Polish

- Removed the launcher window size presets — the window is freely resizable and remembers its size
- Selection groups in the Win95 theme now have sharp edges to match the theme's style
